Prelims Strategy

For CSAT Prelims, a strategic approach to conclusion questions is paramount for both accuracy and time management. Vyyuha recommends a 'Precision-Pace-Practice' methodology. Precision begins with meticulous reading of the passage.

Identify all premises and their relationships. Underline keywords, especially quantifiers (all, some, no) and qualifiers (tend to, likely). Crucially, identify the *exact type* of conclusion question: Must Be True, Most Likely True, Main Point, or Inference.

This sets the standard of proof. For 'Must Be True,' be extremely strict; for 'Most Likely True,' look for strong support but not absolute certainty. Pace is achieved through systematic elimination.

After understanding the argument, quickly scan the options. Immediately discard options that introduce outside information, contradict premises, or use extreme language ('always,' 'never,' 'only') unless explicitly supported.

Be wary of options that reverse relationships or confuse correlation with causation. Aim to eliminate at least two options quickly. If stuck between two, re-read the relevant parts of the passage to find subtle distinctions.

Practice is the ultimate differentiator. Solve a high volume of previous year questions and mock tests. Focus not just on getting the right answer, but on *why* the incorrect options are wrong. Time yourself to build the 2-minute-per-question rhythm.

Vyyuha's analysis shows that consistent practice with detailed error analysis significantly improves both speed and accuracy, turning a challenging section into a scoring opportunity.
