Prelims Strategy

Master the RAPID method systematically: spend 30 seconds on relationship identification, 15 seconds applying logic, 10 seconds on pattern verification, 5 seconds identifying answer, and 10 seconds double-checking.

Build domain-specific vocabulary focusing on science, current affairs, literature, and general knowledge terms that frequently appear in analogies. Practice mathematical patterns daily including squares, cubes, arithmetic progressions, and factorial relationships.

Memorize alphabetical positions (A=1, B=2, etc.) for quick letter analogy calculations. Develop elimination techniques to quickly discard obviously incorrect options. Use the 'relationship first' approach - always identify the first pair's relationship before examining answer choices.

Create mental shortcuts for common patterns: synonyms, antonyms, part-whole, cause-effect, function-based relationships. Practice timed sessions with 45-60 seconds per word analogy, 60-90 seconds per number analogy, and 90-120 seconds per figure analogy.

Focus on accuracy over speed initially, then gradually increase pace. Avoid overthinking simple relationships and don't spend more than 90 seconds on any single analogy question.
