Prelims Strategy

Create a comparison table with observance, commemorative meaning, calendar basis and associated practice. Distinguish Buddha Purnima from Ashadha Purnima and a teacher’s birth commemoration from other sacred events. Do not let a familiar religious term substitute for checking the specific association in an option.

For UNESCO questions, identify the relevant framework. Durga Puja in Kolkata, Kumbh Mela and Garba of Gujarat are named elements on the Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage. The associated years record inscription. They do not establish a foundation date, a building’s World Heritage status or certification of every venue.

Read dates and implementation claims carefully. An event listing for 2024 does not establish a permanent Gregorian date for a lunar observance. A pilot at selected sites does not establish nationwide coverage. Likewise, a ramp can remove an entry barrier without resolving information or toilet access. Match each conclusion to the scale and kind of evidence supplied, and avoid treating a partial but real improvement as either complete success or no improvement.
