Read the description in chronological order: fibre preparation, yarn treatment, weaving and work on the finished cloth. If the resist pattern is prepared on yarn and aligned at the loom, think of ikat. If cloth is tied before dyeing, distinguish that from the yarn example. If additional weft builds the motif during weaving, do not substitute embroidery merely because the result looks ornamental.

Keep material and technique in separate columns when revising. Cotton is compatible with multiple processes, while Pochampally ikat can use cotton or silk. Double ikat refers to both warp and weft being patterned, not two colours or two fabric layers.

For labels, identify the claim being certified. Handloom authenticity, specified quality and geographical association are not interchangeable. A question about worker wages or total environmental impact needs different evidence. Avoid selecting an option solely because it contains a familiar region or an attractive sustainability phrase. Match the wording to the actual process or documented scope of the label.
