Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Sites and Remains (Amendment and Validation) Act, 2010	2010	This significant amendment introduced stringent measures to protect monuments from encroachment and unauthorized construction. It defined 'prohibited areas' (100 meters around a monument) where no construction is allowed, and 'regulated areas' (another 200 meters) where construction requires permission from the newly established National Monuments Authority (NMA).
