⚡ 30-Second Revision

  • - Conventional NIOS ranges: early 1500–1000 BCE
  • later 1000–600 BCE.
  • Rigveda: hymns
  • Samaveda: chants
  • Yajurveda: ritual formulae.
  • Geography: north-west towards the Ganga-Yamuna region.
  • Prescription ≠ census
  • assembly ≠ modern parliament.

2-Minute Revision

Compare evidence, economy, polity and social ideas. Cattle importance coexisted with cultivation. Later territorial claims and royal rituals require explanation through resources and authority. Textual layers reveal different concerns; the fourfold norm must not be equated mechanically with later jatis or universal practice.

5-Minute Revision

Draw two columns for early and later developments without using “all” or “none”. Add one qualification to each row. Then classify a hymn, a ritual explanation and an Upanishadic enquiry by the question each can answer. Explain why one reference to an assembly cannot establish modern democracy.
