The scheme architecture is Centrally Sponsored except for the Central Sector ISS component. Check the relevant vertical before applying an income category or assistance condition.

Distinguish the constitutional provisions for rural and urban local bodies. Article 243W and the Twelfth Schedule concern municipalities; Article 243G and the Eleventh Schedule concern Panchayats. The municipal Schedule expressly includes slum improvement and urban poverty alleviation, but that listing is not evidence of identical operational powers in each municipality.

For eligibility statements, retain the beneficiary-family unit and the no-pucca-house condition alongside the scheme's other requirements. Do not infer immediate sanction from a single qualifying feature. For numerical questions, calculate combined housing and travel costs. A reduction in rent can be outweighed by higher commuting expenditure, so the word affordable needs a defined cost comparison and a relevant household budget.
