e-NAM Platform — Prelims Strategy
Prelims Strategy
For Prelims preparation, focus on memorizing key statistics: launch date (14th April 2016), current coverage (1000+ mandis, 18 states, 175+ commodities), and registered users (1.7+ crore farmers). Understand the technical architecture including quality assaying, electronic weighing, and digital payment systems.
Pay special attention to the distinction between e-NAM and traditional mandis, particularly regarding price discovery mechanisms and market reach. Common traps include confusing e-NAM with other agricultural schemes like PM-KISAN or PMFBY, so clearly differentiate their objectives and mechanisms.
Practice elimination techniques by understanding what e-NAM does NOT do - it doesn't replace mandis, doesn't provide direct cash transfers, and doesn't guarantee uniform prices. Focus on implementation challenges like digital divide, infrastructure constraints, and regulatory barriers as these frequently appear in negative statement questions.
