⚡ 30-Second Revision

Reviewed 17 October 2026.

  • 1893: Parliament of Religions addresses; 1897: Ramakrishna Mission founded.
  • Connect ideas with service, education and agency.
  • Separate historical claims from modern applications.
  • Inspiration needs evidence, impartiality and competent institutions.

2-Minute Revision

Keep the historical anchors attached to their events: Vivekananda’s Chicago Parliament addresses belong to September 1893; the Ramakrishna Mission was founded on 1 May 1897. Belur Math connects Practical Vedanta with lived conduct and social service, including education.

In public administration, use that service orientation to ask whether an intervention develops people’s capabilities and respects dignity. An inspirational speech is not evidence that a programme improved learning.

Examine access, teaching quality and follow-through. Personal inspiration must be translated into public reasons and lawful criteria available to citizens of different beliefs. Attribute only verified words; an original administrative example should be identified as an application, not presented as a historical prescription by the thinker.

Retrieval exercise

Use the 1897 founding as an anchor for organised service. Apply the idea to an original adult-learning centre and name one design change that supports learner agency. Explain why enrolment counts alone do not establish success and why a religious inspiration cannot determine public eligibility.
