Sikh and Other Movements — Prelims Strategy
Prelims Strategy
Revise through a four-column table: movement, leading figure, principal emphasis and chronological anchor. Keep Nirankari and Namdhari identities separate from the later Singh Sabha and Akali phases. The term Kuka is associated with Namdhari reform, while gurdwara management identifies the immediate Akali issue.
Attach dates to the correct institution. Khalsa College Amritsar was founded in 1892; the 1925 Act therefore cannot be its founding instrument. The Parsi Rahnumai association belongs to 1851 and should not be assigned to Sikh gurdwara reform. Where an option uses a genuine name with a genuine but unrelated date, test the whole pairing.
Read claims about colonial patronage carefully. Support for an educational institution does not establish the later loyalty of each participant. Conversely, later nationalist activity does not disprove earlier patronage. Distinguish an institution's foundation, the aims of its promoters and subsequent uses by students or teachers. Shared educational methods also do not establish identical religious ideas or political programmes across communities.
