Sarojini Naidu — Prelims Strategy
Prelims Strategy
Prepare a compact role-and-date chart. The Golden Threshold belongs to 1905; the Congress presidency to Kanpur in 1925; Salt Satyagraha to 1930; Quit India participation to 1942; and the governorship to the period after independence in 1947. Avoid moving a correct date from one role into another.
Read qualifiers precisely. Naidu was the first Indian woman Congress president, while Annie Besant had already been the first woman president in 1917. A statement can name the right leader and session while becoming wrong through omission of one qualifier. Likewise, first woman governor refers to independent India and a different institutional role.
For the salt campaign, separate the original Dandi march from the later Dharasana phase. Naidu's leadership was active and significant without making her the leader of Gandhi's original march. For literary questions, verify author and work rather than relying on a general nationalist association. Anandamath belongs to Bankim Chandra Chattopadhyay, while Naidu's 1905 collection has its own primary publication record.
