Border Security Force — Prelims Strategy
Prelims Strategy
Keep a date table with separate event labels: establishment on 1 December 1965, enactment of the BSF Act on 2 September 1968, and commencement on 1 March 1969. A matching question can be wrong even when every year mentioned is historically relevant.
Pair the force's principal guarding responsibility with Pakistan and Bangladesh. Do not substitute ITBP's China assignment or SSB's Nepal and Bhutan assignment. At the same time, avoid interpreting the correct pair as proof that no other institution has a lawful role along those frontiers.
Read descriptions of the force carefully. The Act's phrase concerning an Armed Force of the Union does not by itself make BSF institutionally identical to the Army. Formation, statutory regulation and operational cooperation are different questions.
For powers, demand specificity. A statement about a jurisdictional distance needs the applicable notification and power, not a general slogan. Distinguish border guarding from investigation and civil policing before deciding whether a proposed statement has expanded the mandate beyond its legal basis.
