Security Framework

Use a role map. BSF is associated with the Pakistan and Bangladesh borders; ITBP with the China border; SSB with Nepal and Bhutan. These are official border-guarding assignments, not claims that no military or civil institution can have a role in the same region.

CRPF supports civil authorities in internal-security and public-order functions. Within its organisational context, RAF is associated with riot and public-order response, while CoBRA is associated with specialised work in the LWE context. The distinction is functional; similar central affiliation does not make the units substitutes for every situation.

CISF is associated with security of important installations and other assigned establishments. Its role differs from the frontier assignments of BSF or ITBP. A question describing an industrial installation should therefore be analysed through the task, rather than through the general fact that several forces carry arms.

The MHA 2022–23 annual report separately identifies Assam Rifles as a Central Para Military Force and NSG as a specialised force. A current directory may group seven organisations under a broad heading, but that arrangement should not override precise classification in a question.

Finally, distinguish role from a current deployment count. Strength, location and assignments can change. The stable examination foundation is mandate, institutional distinction and coordination with civil and military authorities, not an undated inventory of personnel or camps.
