Special Forces — Definition

Definition

Special forces are military formations prepared for specialised tasks through particular training and support arrangements. Their study should identify service associations and publicly documented institutional roles rather than treating every specialised security body as the same organisation.

Army Para Special Forces, Navy Marine Commandos and Air Force Garud participated in Desert Hunt 2025. Joint participation illustrates cooperation but does not merge their identities. The National Security Guard has a separate statutory and administrative framework.

Capability, training objectives and legal authority must therefore be distinguished when interpreting public information about specialised forces.
