National Literacy Mission — Prelims Strategy

Prelims Strategy

Keep the original National Literacy Mission milestone, 5 May 1988, separate from the ULLAS programme period of 2022–23 to 2026–27. The historical 15–35 focus is not the present ULLAS upper-age limit. Its target concerns people aged fifteen and above who missed formal schooling.

Learn the five components as a complete set: foundational literacy and numeracy, critical life skills, basic education, vocational skills and continuing education. Related terms such as school accreditation or university research can be plausible distractors without being listed components. NIPUN Bharat belongs to the school foundational-learning context.

For calculations, identify the population requested. Six hundred successful learners among eight hundred assessed is seventy-five percent, but the same six hundred among one thousand registered is sixty percent. Neither rate automatically becomes the district population literacy rate. A learner's ability to copy numerals is also a narrower observation than the ability to interpret and calculate an unfamiliar practical bill.
