Prelims Strategy

Focus on memorizing specific years, key provisions, and the sequence of constitutional development. Create a chronological timeline linking each Act to its historical context - 1858 (post-1857 revolt), 1909 (rising nationalism), 1919 (post-WWI), 1935 (comprehensive reform).

Memorize the exact features: 1858 (Crown rule, Secretary of State, Viceroy), 1909 (separate electorates, expanded councils), 1919 (dyarchy, bicameral center), 1935 (provincial autonomy, federal structure, Federal Court).

Pay special attention to 'firsts' - first separate electorates (1909), first dyarchy (1919), first bicameral center (1919), first provincial autonomy (1935). Practice elimination techniques by understanding what each Act did NOT introduce - common traps include attributing features to wrong Acts.

Focus on the constitutional legacy - which features of the Indian Constitution trace back to which Act. Use mnemonics for remembering transferred vs. reserved subjects in dyarchy. Create comparison tables for quick revision, especially between Acts and their key differences.
