Fundamental Rights — Revision Notes

Updated 19 Oct 2026

⚡ 30-Second Revision

  • Article 14: persons; Article 19: citizens.
  • Article 23: prohibited trafficking and forced labour, subject to its text.
  • Article 32: enforcement of Part III rights.
  • Article 226: rights and other purposes within its scope.
  • A statutory benefit is not automatically a Fundamental Right.

2-Minute Revision

Identify the guarantee, beneficiary, conduct and qualification. Then choose the remedy suited to the legal claim. A public objective must be pursued through constitutionally permissible means, while an asserted interest needs a sound basis in the relevant right. Do not substitute one article's wording for another's scope.

5-Minute Revision

Compare two hypothetical claims: a Part III violation by a public authority and a dispute about an ordinary statutory entitlement without an established Part III issue. Explain why Article 32 cannot be invoked merely by describing both interests as important. Then identify why Article 226's wider wording matters, while recognising that facts and jurisdictional conditions still require examination.
