42nd Amendment	1976	Introduced Article 48A (Directive Principle) directing the State to protect and improve environment and safeguard forests and wildlife, and Article 51A(g) making environmental protection a fundamental duty of citizens. These provisions provided constitutional foundation for environmental legislation and later for specialized environmental tribunals like NGT.	Created constitutional mandate for environmental protection and established legal basis for environmental laws and institutions including the National Green Tribunal
