Information Technology Act Amendment	2008	Significantly expanded the scope of cyber crimes, introduced new offenses like cyber terrorism, and strengthened data protection provisions. Added Section 66A (later struck down) for offensive online content and Section 69A for content blocking powers. Aadhaar Act	2016	Provided legal foundation for Aadhaar as targeted delivery mechanism for subsidies and benefits. Established UIDAI as statutory body and defined framework for Aadhaar-based authentication and service delivery.	Enabled systematic use of digital identity in e-governance while creating ongoing debates about privacy, surveillance, and mandatory usage that continue to shape policy development.
