Coastal Zone Management — Prelims Strategy
Prelims Strategy
Prepare a category-to-feature table before memorising distances. CRZ-IA, IB, II, III and IV do not describe interchangeable strips. An intertidal feature differs from developed land, and coastal waters remain within the regulatory discussion. The question's mapped feature and activity determine which rule needs examination.
Keep HTL and LTL references attached to the relevant number. The 50-metre and 200-metre NDZ references associated with IIIA and IIIB in the 2019 framework are not the same as the twelve-nautical-mile seaward water-area reference. A distance beyond an NDZ is not automatically an approval for any activity.
Distinguish framework knowledge from site permission. An approved plan, applicable amendments and project-specific evidence matter. NCSCM's public map is general information, while project clearance uses the required site-specific map. In ecological options, test the mechanism: a planting count does not establish restored tidal exchange or hazard protection. Read the trap explanations for the particular boundary or inference error rather than using a blanket rule about development near the sea.
