Prelims Strategy

Construct a dated organisation map before attempting statement questions. Include the Russian Revolution in 1917 as an international influence, Tashkent 1920 and Kanpur 1925 as separate communist milestones, the CSP in 1934 and AIKS at Lucknow in 1936. A question's place and institutional description can be as important as the year.

Separate events sharing a city name. The Kanpur conspiracy case of 1924 was a prosecution; the 1925 communist conference was an organisational event. Meerut belongs to the prosecution history beginning in 1929. Do not move a correct name into a nearby but unrelated milestone.

For conceptual statements, distinguish a party from a trade-union federation or peasant organisation. Shared activists do not prove identical membership or programme. Nehru's socialist outlook did not establish CSP membership. Similarly, a demand for agrarian restructuring is evidence of a programme, not proof of its implementation. Read qualifiers about unity and uniformity carefully because left currents differed in methods, alliances and interpretations.
