The Rights of Persons with Disabilities (RPwD) Act, 2016, is a landmark legislation in India that aims to ensure the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities (PwDs). Previously, disability was often seen through a medical or charity lens, where PwDs were considered objects of pity or medical intervention.
