Distinguish PMKVY, PM-NAPS, JSS and ITI-based Craftsmen Training Scheme routes. Apprenticeship has a structured workplace-learning context, while JSS uses non-formal delivery. RPL assesses existing capability; it is not automatic certification based on experience and should not be counted as a full beginner's course without that training actually occurring.

Read programme approvals with their stated periods. The 2025 restructuring and the April 2026 budget reply answer different questions about programme architecture and current allocations. A rise in the Skill India Programme budget estimate from ₹2,700 crore to ₹2,800 crore is ₹100 crore, about 3.7 percent, not proof of equivalent spending or placement growth.

In cohort calculations, fix the denominator. One hundred and eighty employment outcomes among five hundred enrolled learners is thirty-six percent, while the same outcomes among three hundred certified learners gives sixty percent. Proximity to a training centre also does not establish full accessibility when course hours conflict with paid work.
