Occupational Health Standards — Revision Notes

Updated 19 Oct 2026

⚡ 30-Second Revision

Hazard is potential harm; risk depends on exposure and consequences. Control the source and pathway where feasible. Health checks complement workplace assessment. The Code, applicable rules and technical guidance have different authority.

2-Minute Revision

Map the task, hazard, exposed people and existing controls. Prefer measures that reduce exposure at source, then verify their performance. Keep health surveillance linked to prevention and appropriate confidentiality. Interpret measurements with their units, duration and method. A low disease count or high examination count is not sufficient evidence of protection. Apply the correct jurisdictional framework and include workers who may disappear from narrow administrative lists.

5-Minute Revision

For 200 covered workers, 150 examination offers and 120 completions, compute coverage-stage rates: offers 75 percent, completion among covered 60 percent and completion among offered 80 percent. State what none of these rates proves about exposure control. Next distinguish an enclosure, a warning poster, a training register and issued equipment by how they act. Finally identify the evidence needed to show that the chosen measures actually function.

Vyyuha Quick Recall

Task, exposure, control, review: locate the hazard in real work, assess who encounters it, verify prevention and revisit the evidence.
