Prelims Strategy

To excel in NEET questions on the male reproductive system, a multi-pronged strategy is essential. Firstly, master the anatomical diagram. Be able to label every part of the system, both internal and external, and visualize their relative positions.

This helps in answering direct identification and pathway questions. Secondly, focus on the 'why' behind each structure's existence and function. For instance, why are testes external? (Thermoregulation).

Why do accessory glands secrete specific substances? (Nourishment, protection, motility). This conceptual understanding helps tackle reasoning-based questions.

For numerical problems, while rare in this specific subtopic, understanding relative contributions (e.g., seminal vesicle contributes most volume) can be important. For conceptual questions, pay close attention to keywords like 'primary function,' 'site of,' 'secretion of.

' Trap options often involve swapping functions between similar-looking structures (e.g., Sertoli vs. Leydig cells, seminal vesicle vs. prostate). Always re-read the question and all options carefully before selecting.

Practice tracing the sperm pathway repeatedly to avoid errors in sequence-based questions. Finally, create flashcards for key terms, cell types, and their functions to aid quick recall during the exam.
