Mains Strategy

The written tasks on this page are data-reasoning drills rather than claims about a separate descriptive CSAT examination. Present a small data table reconstructed from the chart before making an argument. Include the component amounts, totals, units and periods so that the calculation can be audited without relying on a visual impression.

Work through one comparison in full. If a share falls while the amount rises, calculate both quantities and explain the role of the growing total. If the question combines groups, show the summed numerator and denominator rather than averaging percentages without justification. Identify what a 100-percent stack can establish and what additional totals would be needed for an absolute comparison.

Conclude at the strength supported by the display. A chart describes the recorded quantities but does not, on its own, establish a causal explanation for a trend. State any missing definitions or category changes that prevent comparison. A useful written answer combines transparent arithmetic, correct terminology and a bounded interpretation, rather than turning the chart into a story unsupported by its data.
