Rural employment transition notified for 1 July 2026

The Ministry of Rural Development announced commencement of the VB–G RAM G Act from 1 July 2026 and repeal of MGNREGA from that date, with a 125-day rural-household guarantee under the new framework. The announcement is dated 11 May; commencement is a separate event.
