Act 10 of 20252025The Disaster Management (Amendment) Act, 2025 changed the 2005 statutory framework with relevant provisions effective from 9 April 2025. It omitted former sections 12 and 19 and placed relief-guideline functions in sections 6(2)(w) and 18(2)(o). It also distinguishes rehabilitation, recovery and reconstruction in the definitions.Relief standards must be cited through the amended institutional provisions. The State guidelines retain the national minimum as a floor; omission of an old section number does not mean the relief responsibility was abolished. Recovery planning can distinguish restoration of basic services from broader asset and system recovery.
