Focus on memorizing specific project details: Tehri (2400 MW, Uttarakhand), Bhakra Nangal (1325 MW, Punjab-Himachal), Sardar Sarovar (1450 MW, Gujarat), and their rivers. Learn capacity classifications: Large hydro (>25 MW), Small hydro (≤25 MW), Micro hydro (≤100 kW).

Memorize policy provisions: National Hydro Policy 2008 mandates 1% of project cost for local development, environmental flow requirements, and benefit-sharing mechanisms. Understand technical concepts: pumped storage functioning, capacity factor calculations, and grid stability services.

Practice elimination techniques: eliminate options with wrong capacity figures, incorrect state-project pairings, or factually wrong policy provisions. Focus on current affairs: 2019 large hydro reclassification, Northeast projects like Dibang and Subansiri, recent environmental clearances and NGT interventions.
