Various Security Forces and Agencies — Prelims Strategy
Prelims Strategy
Construct a function-to-institution table before memorising organisational abbreviations. Distinguish border guarding, investigation, intelligence, industrial security and specialised counter-terrorism. A question often tests a swapped function rather than an obscure founding date.
For NIA, keep the Act's year, 2008, and the concept of scheduled offences together. The agency's national role does not make it a general replacement for state police. Read statements about central directions, state assistance and continuing state powers against the relevant statutory functions.
For border forces, use the official assignment pairs while recognising that military responsibilities along the LoC and LAC add another layer. A border-guarding assignment should not be expanded into an exclusive claim that no other institution can have a lawful role in the area.
Finally, distinguish administrative grouping from formal classification. A ministry directory may list several organisations together for convenience. That display does not prove that they have identical status, command arrangements or missions, so read the precise wording of the question.
