Prelims Strategy
Test the defining proposition before reacting to the presence of religious vocabulary. A cultural association, a prayer meeting and a demand for equal protection are not automatically communal. The decisive clue is a claim that religious membership determines a single political interest or a superior entitlement to power. A statement may be communal even when it does not call for violence.
Keep three pairs separate: faith and political domination; community identity and uniform interests; communal ideology and a recorded riot. A question may offer the correct description of one as the definition of another. Also separate the constitutional text from the date of an explicit Preamble term: the Forty-second Amendment Act, 1976 added secular, but Articles 14, 15 and 25 were already part of the rights framework.
Read Article 25 with its qualifications. An option omitting public order, morality, health and other Part III provisions overstates the right; an option treating those qualifications as a general licence to suppress religion also misstates it. In scenarios, ask whether responsibility is assigned through evidence of conduct or inferred from group membership. That distinction often resolves two otherwise plausible answers.
