Focus on memorizing specific article numbers (245-255) and their exact provisions, as UPSC frequently tests these through direct questions or statement-based MCQs. Create a clear mental map of the three legislative lists with key subjects and their numbers (Union List-100, State List-61, Concurrent List-52).

Pay special attention to subjects transferred by constitutional amendments, particularly the 42nd Amendment transfers. Practice identifying the correct doctrine for different scenarios - use 'pith and substance' for determining legislative competence and 'repugnancy' for resolving conflicts.

Master the exceptions to normal legislative distribution: Articles 249 (national interest), 250 (emergency), 252 (inter-state agreements). Stay updated with current affairs involving Centre-State legislative disputes, as these frequently appear in Prelims.

Use elimination techniques by understanding what each article does NOT cover - for example, Article 249 requires Rajya Sabha resolution, not Lok Sabha. Create mnemonics for remembering article numbers and their specific provisions.
