Prelims Strategy

Create separate columns for hazards, exposures, controls, health surveillance and legal authority. This prevents a question about one category from being answered with a related item from another. A hazard identifies potential harm; its presence alone does not establish a particular person's disease or the effectiveness of a control.

Review the control hierarchy through examples. Enclosing a process is an engineering measure, a shift arrangement is administrative and personal equipment protects the individual. Do not treat equipment distribution as verified protection or a health camp as removal of the source. Interpret exposure figures only with the stated units and averaging period.

For institutional questions, distinguish the OSH Code's standards provision from employer duties and from the rules that supply details. Keep Central and State jurisdiction separate, and identify ILO recommendations as guidance rather than an automatic replacement for Indian law.

In numerical questions, write the population requested: completed examinations among covered workers differs from completion among workers offered an examination. A rise in reports may reflect visibility as well as underlying conditions, so avoid a causal conclusion unsupported by the data.
