Prelims Strategy

Construct a four-Code comparison by subject: wages, industrial relations, social security, and occupational safety and working conditions. Then test whether a statement concerns enactment, commencement, rule-making, scheme notification or actual benefit delivery. These stages cannot be substituted for one another, even when a statement uses the correct Code title.

For worker categories, distinguish direct fixed-term employment from labour supplied through a contractor. A time-limited contract does not alone identify the legal relationship. Similarly, the presence of a digital platform does not remove the need to apply the relevant definitions and facts.

Read benefit statements with their conditions. A database registration, contribution record and approved claim are different things. Options that infer immediate cash entitlement from registration may sound plausible because registration supports access, but the scheme's rules still matter.

Use dated ministry FAQs carefully: a clarification issued in March 2026 establishes what was stated then, not the status of every later notification. Avoid memorising an undated rate or threshold when the source is explicitly transitional.
