Factual Passages — Definition

Definition
A factual passage question asks what a text explicitly states, including a faithful restatement of the same information. The answer must preserve the people, conditions, quantities and time period specified by the writer.
It does not require outside knowledge or a new explanation of the event. If a passage says that a pilot covered three wards, it does not establish that the whole city received the service. This skill matters because an option can contain familiar words while changing the original claim.
Factual accuracy in comprehension means agreement with the passage, rather than agreement with what seems generally plausible.
