| Apprenticeship Rules 2015 | 2015 | The Apprenticeship (Amendment) Rules, 2015, G.S.R. 502(E) dated 16 June 2015, amended the 1992 Rules. They added definitions for non-engineering qualifications and optional-trade apprentices, and inserted rule 7A regulating optional-trade training. Among its safeguards, employers had to disclose the duration and syllabus on the portal, apprentices had to maintain a supervisor-countersigned work diary, and an apprenticeship contract had to be uploaded. The amendment connected an expanded training framework with identifiable training obligations. | A place labelled an apprenticeship does not by itself demonstrate structured skill development. A disclosed syllabus provides a benchmark; a work diary records the tasks actually undertaken; assessment can then examine progress against the training programme. These are distinct from merely counting enrolments or time spent at a workplace. This entry explains the 2015 change, not the complete current stipend, duration or establishment-quota rules, which require the later consolidated legal text. |
