Indian Space Programme — Mains Strategy

Mains Strategy

Begin with a capability-and-use framework: “A space programme creates value through reliable missions and the institutions that convert their capabilities into scientific, strategic and public-service outcomes.” Then organise the answer around the dimension asked for rather than listing missions chronologically.

For applications, trace observation or communication to processing, delivery and action. A flood map needs local information and an agency able to respond. For sector reform, distinguish advanced public R&D, authorisation and commercialisation, then examine finance, manufacturing, skills and market demand. For exploration, explain the demonstrated capability and the further steps required for a more complex mission.

Include limits and governance: safety, reliability, responsible operations and evidence of actual use. Use the 2023 policy or 2025 docking milestone with its date, avoiding an unverified future schedule. Conclude with measures appropriate to the purpose—scientific results, reliable services, demonstrated technology or effective applications. A successful launch is important, but it should not be treated as proof that each downstream benefit has already materialised.
