Mains Strategy

Begin with the public-service problem and explain the proposed measurement-to-action chain. For a water-monitoring deployment, identify the quantity measured, how the reading reaches the responsible team and what action follows an abnormal result. This is more useful than listing generic benefits of digitisation. Specify where a sensor reading is an indicator requiring confirmation rather than a complete diagnosis.

Assess the proposal through data quality, connectivity, security and maintenance. Assign an owner to calibration and updates, and examine how the service behaves during loss of communication. A safe fallback may matter more than a visually impressive dashboard when a device participates in physical control. Discuss privacy where the data can reveal individual activity.

Evaluate outcomes separately from installation counts. Useful evidence might concern detection time, response completion or reduction of a verified service failure, depending on the application. Conclude with a lifecycle plan that includes support, replacement and accountable decisions. Do not claim a quantified efficiency gain without a source and a relevant comparison.
